ASICS EKIDEN RACE: a First for CLUTCH
29 Jan 2026

Last weekend marked CLUTCH’s first time showing up at a race as a team representing both the brand and the community.

We competed at the ASICS EKIDEN Race in Jakarta, a mixed relay format with two men and two women covering 2 x 2000m, 1 x 1600m, and 1 x 400m, chasing the fastest cumulative time.

Everyone on the team comes from a recreational background. They train around work, responsibilities, and everyday life. What they share isn’t performance credentials, but a consistent commitment to personal growth.

The team finished 3rd in Heat A out of 16 teams, and 13th overall out of 83 teams, with a final time of 00:22:51.61. Several runners hit personal bests earned under pressure, in a relay where every leg carries more than just your own effort.

From our side as a brand, this moment means more than results. No one was asked to represent CLUTCH. No promises were made. People chose to show up, compete, and carry the name simply because they wanted to. This is how CLUTCH grows through people who take their own journey seriously, and are willing to do it together.
